U-Net Models for Parasite Segmentation

Slide visualising the U-Net encoder–decoder architecture used for parasite segmentation.

U-Net architectures are used in the broader research project to segment parasite regions in stool microscopy images.

They follow an encoder–decoder design with skip connections, allowing localisation of small structures while retaining contextual information.

Although the live demo concentrates on classification and federated optimisation, the U-Net pages provide qualitative context for how segmentation contributes to the overall workflow.
